My twin texted me this morning, "Post on your blog, woman!"

So I figured I'd update you all on where I am at this point.

I'm not sure I want to continue blogging. I started this blog to have an outlet and a good timeline of events while TTC, and to hopefully find some support. Well I found support from so many of my followers, which I am forever appreciative of. But mostly, I found support in the best private FB group ever. All of my fears can be expressed and there's always someone available to give you advice or support or anything you need. There's actually 2 groups. One for women actively TTC who want to participate in a very positive environment and get all the support and advice anyone could ever want. The other group is a step-up group for those who've gotten pregnant or decided to adopt, or moved on from TTC for any reason, but want to keep up with the other ladies in the group. They're both amazing with some of the best women, who I consider my friends.

My point is, I don't feel like I need an outlet anymore.

I also am not "private" anymore. So if you want to follow my life and my progress through pregnancy, please find me on FB and friend me!! https://www.facebook.com/jennaltheimer

I don't post much personal pregnancy-related stuff on my personal page (like my issues I've encountered during my pregnancy), but I post pictures of my bump weekly and ultrasound pictures as I get them. But you can always FB message me and I'll be happy to update you and also hear an update from you!

I don't want to leave on an uncertain note so I'll give you an update on where I am right now.

I had my MFM appointment last week and it went really well.

My MFM is the Patch Adams of the fetal world. He wore a bow tie and was very flamboyant (and also straight!). He was amazing. He had the best bedside manner, he looked us in the eyes and asked a lot of questions as well as let us ask a lot of questions. He didn't rush us through anything. He was, quite honestly, the best doctor I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Basically, I have an "exaggerated" case of circumvallate placenta. Because although this is found to happen in about 1% of pregnancies, the majority of the time it isn't noticed until you give birth and someone exams the placenta and sees the issue. There is a spectrum of how serious it can be (how much of the placenta is not attached to the uterus), and my doctor said since the OB office even saw the issue in the first place shows that is a more obvious case. But because of the fact that a baby only ever needs 85-90% of the placenta, and the fact that he is growing beautifully (measuring 1 week 2 days ahead), there isn't an immediate or even necessarily a long-term concern. There's nothing I can do except get monitored more often to make sure his growth is on track. Once I pass 24 weeks, if his growth slows down or becomes concerning, they will amp up the monitoring and make a determination if Gavin will be better off inside or outside of me. I also have the possibility of being put on bed rest if we notice a growth slow-down.

Other than that, Gavin is doing wonderfully. He has a beautiful heart and spine and all of his limbs are growing perfectly. And of course, he's super cute! We were watching him do flips and kicking me and stretching out, and we even got some 4D video where we saw his hands move to his head and he stuck his fingers in his mouth.

I'll have my normally scheduled ultrasounds with my OB (including one tomorrow) and I see the specialist again in 5 more weeks (FOREVER IN PREGNANCY WORLD!).

Lately he's been kicking me in the cervix and bladder... like ALL day yesterday. I kept having to get up and walk around because it is so uncomfortable. I'm not sure why he stayed in one place pretty much all day yesterday and kicked me "there" so much! Today he is still doing it but not as much and it isn't *as* uncomfortable. I'd much rather he keep kicking, though, even if it is uncomfortable where he is kicking. : )

I will probably still check in every once in a while but I don't think I'll update every appointment or milestone.

xoxo,

JJ
